HBO renews The Leftovers for second season in 2015

HBO was sitting on it’s decision to renew or cancel The Leftovers after just one season, but it appears that a decision has been made and it’s one that fans of the show will be happy about.

According to Variety, HBO has renewed the series for a second season, which was something that was being pondered by fans of the show wondering if or when a renewal was going to come.

“We are thrilled to bring back ‘The Leftovers’ for a second season with the exceptional talents of Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta,” said Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “It has been truly exciting to see the overwhelming response to their provocative and original storytelling. We look forward to continuing the journey as the show delves deeper into the lives of those who remain.”

HBO is known to stick with its shows long enough to see if it finds an audience and that appears to be what has happened here, as The Leftovers will be back in 2015 and that’s good news for folks that still need time to figure out just what the heck is going on.
